The China (Hong Kong) International Fair for Trade in Services (HKCTS Fair), jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was held in Hong Kong on the 11th. Enterprise representatives from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong held thematic discussions on new trends, new directions, and new hotspots in the opening up and development of trade in services, as well as on topics such as the digital economy, scientific and technological innovation, and green development.

It is understood that the HKCTS Fair was held concurrently and in the same venue as the 9th Belt and Road Summit Hong Kong, under the theme "China's Services Serving the World," bringing together innovative practical achievements in trade-in-services fields such as green environmental protection, cultural industries, cross-border e-commerce, and cloud services (big data), and showcasing China's image in trade in services to global buyers.

An exhibition zone for mainland trade in services was set up at the event, with more than 50 trade-in-services enterprises from eight provinces and municipalities—Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Shanghai, Shandong, Hubei, Guangdong, and Shaanxi—participating, displaying innovative development achievements in fields such as green environmental protection, cultural creativity, cross-border e-commerce, cloud services, and big data, and building a pragmatic cooperation platform for trade-in-services enterprises from the mainland and Hong Kong to jointly expand into international markets.

Chan Pak-li, Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said that the service industry accounts for more than 93% of Hong Kong's gross domestic product, and that under the framework of the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), the mainland and Hong Kong have basically achieved liberalization of trade in services. He very much looks forward to the new round of amendments to the CEPA Trade in Services Agreement, enabling relevant Hong Kong enterprises and entrepreneurs to explore the mainland market under more preferential conditions, while contributing to the country's development of new quality productive forces and the solid advancement of high-quality development.
