On August 25, the "Yongxin" shield machine successfully launched on the right line from Xincheng Avenue Station to Daxuecheng Station of Section 2 of the Ningbo-Cixi Regional Railway, marking the project's official entry into a new construction phase with four shield machines tunneling simultaneously. The launched "Yongxin" shield machine has a diameter of 8.63 meters and a total length of 120 meters, and is an earth pressure balance shield machine. The machine set off from the shield shaft in front of Daxuecheng Station and drives westward along the north side of the Beisanhuan Highway service road, with a total tunneling length of approximately 1,699 meters, and will reach Xincheng Avenue Station after passing beneath multiple bridges and buildings.

To ensure the smooth launch of the shield machines in the section and achieve the goal of launching two shield machines within two months in a limited site space, the project team worked closely with local traffic management authorities. From planning the transport routes for the shield machines to equipment mobilization, the two sides jointly formulated detailed transportation plans and emergency response plans, making every effort to ensure smooth passage of shield machine transport vehicles on city roads so that they could arrive on site as scheduled. Meanwhile, based on assembly progress, the project team allocated human resources rationally and adopted parallel operations, carrying out site preparation work simultaneously, effectively improving overall labor productivity and ensuring that every step proceeded in an orderly manner. The strata crossed by the Xinda section are mainly sandy silt, silty clay interbedded with silt, and mucky silty clay, which are water-rich soft strata highly prone to segment uplift. In addition, along the shield tunneling route, four demolished-and-rebuilt bridges and municipal elevated roads must be crossed, imposing extremely high requirements on tunneling control precision. To this end, the project adopted a ground settlement monitoring system to conduct dynamic real-time monitoring of the ground and buildings, and organized special training on technical briefings, safe construction, maintenance, and traveling machinery to effectively improve the team's technical level and professional competence.
