Nanjing, August 28 (Xinhua) — On the evening of the 27th, the Public Security Bureau of Zhangjiagang City, Suzhou, issued a police bulletin stating that at approximately 13:49 that day, on Zhenxing East Road in the Economic Development Zone (Yangshe Town) of Zhangjiagang City, a small sedan traveling from east to west collided with two electric bicycles while passing the section near the south gate of Nonglian Jiayuan, injuring three people riding or driving the electric bicycles. The injured were promptly taken to hospital for treatment; two of them died after emergency rescue efforts failed, and one is in stable condition.

　　At present, the driver of the vehicle causing the accident, Qu (male, 29), has been taken into police custody, and suspicion of drunk driving or drug driving has been ruled out. The cause of the accident is under further investigation.
