On November 23, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development held an on-site meeting on intelligent construction in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, to implement the spirit of the National Housing and Urban-Rural Development Work Conference, report on the progress of intelligent construction pilot work, exchange experiences and practices in developing intelligent construction across regions, deploy and advance key tasks, and promote high-quality development of the construction industry. Comrade Wang Hui, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Relevant responsible comrades from Zhejiang Province and Wenzhou City attended the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that intelligent construction should be understood from the perspective of serving the new development pattern, developed with the goal of building good housing, and promoted in accordance with market-oriented and law-based principles, so as to accelerate the formation of a set of effective experience models, drive the transformation of the construction industry toward industrialization, digitalization, and green development, and achieve higher-quality, more efficient, more sustainable, and safer development, demonstrating through practical results the responsibility and commitment of housing and urban-rural development workers.

The meeting emphasized the need to anchor the goal of "improving quality and reducing costs," develop digital design, promote intelligent production, advance intelligent construction, drive smart operation and maintenance, build the construction industry internet, and develop and apply intelligent construction equipment such as construction robots, so as to enhance the quality and efficiency of engineering construction through technological empowerment and provide society with high-quality building products.

The meeting required that each pilot city make cultivating leading enterprises a key task, striving to cultivate by the end of the pilot period several backbone enterprises in the region with key core technologies and system solution capabilities for intelligent construction, while also cultivating a group of small and medium-sized enterprises in specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative fields, making them a backbone force driving high-quality development of the construction industry in the new era.

Attendees observed on site the achievements exhibition of intelligent construction pilot cities, the achievements exhibition of intelligent construction development in Zhejiang Province, and the practical exercise of "intelligent construction equipment + industrial workers." Five cities—Wenzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Hefei, and Shenzhen—as well as Zhejiang Province introduced their experiences and practices.
