From October 17 to 18, the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing. As a representative equipment manufacturing enterprise participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road, Zoomlion was invited to attend the Plenary Session of the Belt and Road International Cooperation Think Tank Committee, where it shared the practical achievements of the enterprise in jointly building the Belt and Road with participating representatives from around the world and discussed the bright future of the Belt and Road.

At the event, Sun Changjun, Vice President of Zoomlion, shared the company's successful experience in the Belt and Road construction. Sun Changjun believes that high-standard products and technologies are the foundation for Chinese construction machinery enterprises to jointly build the Belt and Road with high quality, giving customers and enterprises growing confidence as they go further in Belt and Road cooperation. At the same time, Sun Changjun also vividly illustrated, through specific practices such as win-win cooperation with acquired enterprises, cultivation of localized employees, and active assumption of social responsibility, how localized development enables equipment manufacturing enterprises to advance steadily and deeply in their overseas expansion.

According to reports, in recent years, thanks to the support of new technologies such as new digital technologies, new materials, and new energy, as well as the empowerment of intelligent manufacturing, construction machinery has become one of the representatives of China's advanced manufacturing industry. Zoomlion's high-standard products are exported to Belt and Road partner countries and are widely praised by customers for their strong performance, good quality, high cost-effectiveness, and short delivery cycles. Their competitiveness continues to strengthen, and they have been widely used in various Belt and Road projects.

Zoomlion adheres to the concept of localization and deeply cultivates overseas markets, enabling the enterprise to advance steadily and deeply in its overseas expansion. In its overseas development, Zoomlion has successively acquired six European enterprises: CIFA of Italy, m-tec of Germany, Raxtar of the Netherlands, Ladurner of Italy, Wilbert of Germany, and Rabe of Germany. After the acquisitions, Zoomlion respects local culture and rules and, through coordination in supply chain, market, and other aspects, has achieved harmonious development and win-win cooperation.

Zoomlion has not only achieved win-win cooperation with locally acquired overseas enterprises, but has also achieved extensive sharing of development outcomes with Belt and Road partner countries through cultivating localized employees and building greenfield factories. At present, Zoomlion's foreign employee team exceeds 3,000 people. Taking Indonesia as an example, Zoomlion's local employees there account for 90%, creating more than 300 jobs for Indonesia, improving employees' professional skills, increasing their income, and enhancing their sense of gain and happiness. At the same time, they are familiar with local culture and local markets, which reduces cultural conflicts, brings the company closer to customers, and improves enterprise efficiency. In September, Zoomlion signed a cooperation agreement with a local Indonesian enterprise to jointly build a factory in Indonesia to produce agricultural machinery products, which will not only create a large number of jobs but also effectively raise the local level of industrialization.

In addition, in the course of overseas development, Zoomlion actively assumes social responsibility. For example, in February this year, when an earthquake struck Turkey, Zoomlion immediately set up a rescue team and rushed to the disaster area, being the first Chinese equipment force to arrive at the scene and receiving high praise from all parties in Turkey. The views on civilization, responsibility, and justice and benefit embodied by Zoomlion in jointly building the Belt and Road were highly recognized by the guests present.

Zoomlion is one of the earlier Chinese equipment manufacturing enterprises to "go global." Along the Belt and Road, Zoomlion has, through product export, overseas mergers and acquisitions, and greenfield factory construction, enabled industry, capital, culture, and management to continuously go global together. While promoting the rapid improvement of the enterprise's overseas business, it has also enhanced the well-being of people's livelihoods along the routes and promoted local social and economic development.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past decade, Belt and Road cooperation has evolved from a "freehand sketch" into a "meticulous painting." In the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, Zoomlion has taken concrete actions to actively act as a "meticulous painter," helping the Belt and Road Initiative transform from a blueprint into a real-world picture and promoting the rooting of a large number of landmark projects and "small yet beautiful" livelihood projects.
