"Fuqiang" Rolls Off the Production Line

Following the successful rollout of "Dilong No. 4," China's first composite earth pressure balance shield tunneling machine with an ultra-small turning radius, Jiangdu once again brought good news of a "major national heavy equipment" on September 6. On that day, the world's largest-diameter rock pipe jacking machine, "Fuqiang," successfully rolled off the production line at Guanghong Heavy Industry in Jiangdu High-tech Zone.

On the 7th, the reporter saw the successfully rolled-off "Fuqiang" in the production workshop of Jiangsu Guanghong Heavy Industry Equipment Co., Ltd. The entire machine resembles an "underground dragon," employing an ultra-large-diameter main central shaft transmission structure, fully intelligent centralized control, powerful drive, and stable sealing performance. "Its excavation diameter reaches 5.49 meters, setting the current world record for the largest diameter of a rock pipe jacking machine," said a relevant person in charge of Guanghong Heavy Industry. The main unit of "Fuqiang" weighs 190 tons and can operate in complex rock composite strata, with a designed maximum jacking speed of 100 millimeters per minute.

"After rolling off the production line, the equipment will be used for the main box culvert pipe jacking construction of the green development project in the Huxingshan area of Hengyang, Hunan, with a single jacking distance of 330 meters," the person in charge introduced. Unlike traditional shield tunneling machines, the rock pipe jacking machine is like a "steel pangolin," capable of traversing complex strata such as silty clay and strongly weathered silty sandy mudstone, thus placing very high demands on equipment and construction. "The company's R&D team overcame difficulties and innovatively adopted advanced technologies, successfully developing and delivering 'Fuqiang' in a short period of time."
