On August 21, after a full day and night of continuous effort, Guanwuyou helped ensure the successful concrete pouring of the 6.3-meter ultra-large-diameter bored pile for Pier 5, the main tower pier of the Xihoumen Road-Rail Bridge on the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, the world's longest-span sea-crossing road-rail bridge.

According to reports, the railway is a major national project in the Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan (2016-2030), one of the ten landmark projects of Zhejiang Province's major corridor construction, and the No. 1 project in Zhoushan's comprehensive transportation campaign. It will strongly advance the implementation of major national initiatives such as Yangtze River Delta integration and the Belt and Road Initiative, consolidate national defense, and realize the integrated and synchronized development of Ningbo and Zhoushan.

As a controlling project of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, the Xihoumen road-rail dual-purpose bridge has a total length of 2,664 meters. As a key controlling project of the entire line, its main bridge adopts a cable-stayed and suspension cooperative system with a main span of 1,488 meters; it also adopts a "road-rail on the same level" layout, with two high-speed rail lines in the middle and a six-lane expressway on each side, making it the world's longest-span road-rail combined bridge. The pile foundation has a maximum diameter of 6.3 meters, making it the world's largest-diameter cast-in-place pile, and the main girder is 68 meters wide, making it the widest bridge of its type in the world.

During the construction of the cast-in-place piles, as a world record, the project had extremely high requirements for the height and quality of the pile heads, so it was hoped that Guanwuyou could be used to control the cast-in-place pile construction process.

The ultra-large-diameter pile foundation means a larger volume of concrete, and liquid level differences are very likely to occur during concrete pouring, which poses a major challenge to on-site organization and management. Zhonghaisheng engineers rushed to the project site three times to discuss key points of concrete quality control with technical personnel, guide workers on site in installing Guanwuyou, and monitor the concrete pouring. As the green light of Guanwuyou came on, the concrete pouring was successfully completed; after multiple re-measurements, the actual error did not exceed 10 cm.

The successful concrete pouring of the 6.3-meter ultra-large-diameter bored pile for Pier 5, the main tower pier of the Xihoumen Road-Rail Bridge on the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, has laid a solid foundation for the water-based pile foundation construction of this key controlling project of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway.
