On August 22, six scientific and technological achievements of Sunward and its wholly-owned subsidiary Wuxi Bike Hydraulic Co., Ltd. successfully passed expert appraisal organized by the China Construction Machinery Association, of which two achievements reached the international leading level and four reached the international advanced level.

The appraisal committee was headed by Professor Xu Gening, former vice president of Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, as chairman, with Qi Jun, honorary president of the China Construction Machinery Association, and Guo Chuanxin, deputy chief engineer of Beijing Construction Mechanization Research Institute Co., Ltd., as vice chairmen. It was composed of authoritative industry experts including Yu Haoshan, director of the Drill Bit and Drilling Tool Department of the Institute of Exploration Techniques of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences; Liu Deshun, Party secretary of Hunan University of Science and Technology; Huang Minghui, dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Central South University; and Hu Junke, chief expert of Hunan Guozhong Zhilian Construction Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd. The appraisal meeting was chaired by Senior Engineer Wang Dayu, deputy director of the Science, Technology and Quality Department of the China Construction Machinery Association. Sunward founder, honorary chairman and chief expert He Qinghua, deputy general manager Zhu Jianxin and other relevant leaders and experts attended the meeting.

The appraisal committee inspected the products on site, listened to project work reports and reviewed relevant technical documents. After questioning and discussion, the committee spoke highly of the scientific and technological achievements made by the project teams in fields such as construction machinery and key core components, holding that the achievements feature strong technological innovation, possess independent intellectual property rights, deliver significant economic and social benefits and have broad application prospects.

Through more than two decades of accumulation and development, Sunward has formed an underground engineering equipment product cluster covering "building foundation equipment" and "underground space equipment," developed more than 20 types and over 100 models of underground engineering equipment, and established a Sunward-specific support system that fully responds to the requirements of underground engineering equipment for "multiple varieties, small batches, emphasis on construction methods and emphasis on solutions." Its overall technical level and the completeness of its product series are in a world-leading position. The three main-machine scientific and technological achievements appraised this time—"Key Technology Research and Application of Self-Propelled Full-Slewing Full-Casing Drilling Rigs," "Key Technology Research and Application of Powerful Multi-Functional Dual-Power-Head Drilling Rigs" and "Research and Application of Construction Equipment and Key Technologies for Ultra-Deep Diaphragm Walls"—have been applied in series products. The products have been verified in actual combat in major projects at home and abroad, and during application were inspected by the National Construction and Urban Construction Machinery Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, with the relevant key technologies verified one by one. User feedback on the equipment has been positive, with obvious economic and social benefits.

In the field of key core components, Sunward established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Wuxi Bike Hydraulic Co., Ltd. As a "Specialized, Refined, Distinctive and Innovative SME of Jiangsu Province," Wuxi Bike has always taken breaking through the "bottleneck" key technologies of hydraulic components as its mission and has consistently focused on the hydraulic components field. In recent years, it has developed a series of key core hydraulic components with distinctive independent innovation features, including multi-way valves, integrated valve groups and central rotary joints for construction machinery. Through years of effort, Wuxi Bike products have gradually been applied in batches to construction machinery host products such as static pile drivers, excavators, rotary drilling rigs and aerial work platforms, achieving localized independent supporting of some key core hydraulic components and contributing to breaking the situation in which China's construction machinery industry's hydraulic components are constrained by others.

The smooth completion of this achievement appraisal marks new research progress by Sunward in fields such as construction machinery and key core components. In the future, Sunward will continue to focus on product R&D and innovation, quality improvement and brand cultivation, intensify the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements, break through "bottleneck" pain points and difficulties, consolidate and enhance corporate innovation and competitiveness, and make greater contributions to promoting scientific and technological progress in the underground engineering equipment field and the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry.
