The Chongtai Yangtze River Tunnel is a controlling project of the entire Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway line, and is China's high-speed railway cross-river tunnel project with the highest construction standards, the longest excavation distance, and the largest scale. The starting and ending sections of the tunnel are located in Taicang, Suzhou and Chongming, Shanghai respectively. Shanghai Yuanfang is responsible for the construction of the retaining structure of the Chongming section of the Chongtai Yangtze River Tunnel, with a planned construction period of 90 days. Since entering the site, the Shanghai Yuanfang project team has steadily advanced the overall construction progress, completed all engineering tasks 13 days ahead of schedule, and delivered high-quality works to China Railway Tunnel Group Co., Ltd. in a timely manner.

Due to the deviation problem of the triaxial mixing piles constructed in the early stage of the project, the difficulty of controlling the verticality of the trenching for the diaphragm wall constructed by Shanghai Yuanfang increased significantly. Whether the trenching verticality control is reasonable directly affects whether the reinforcement cage can be lowered smoothly. In addition, there are a large number of special-shaped reinforcement cages in this project, which means higher requirements for trenching verticality. The original pile deviation problem at the construction site greatly increased the technical difficulty of diaphragm wall construction and also affected the effective progress of Shanghai Yuanfang's construction. Based on the actual conditions of the construction site, the project team formulated a practical and feasible trenching deviation-correction plan, arranged experienced technical and construction personnel to conduct timely detection and panel-by-panel deviation correction, reasonably controlled the trenching verticality, and ensured the smooth lowering of reinforcement cages. The project team treated each construction process rigorously and steadily promoted the implementation of engineering tasks, delivering high-quality works to the client ahead of schedule. The smooth construction of the diaphragm wall retaining works laid a solid foundation for subsequent foundation pit excavation and main structure construction.
