Report Title

Dynamic Interaction Between Underground Structures and Surrounding Buildings Under Earthquake Action

Report Content

Under earthquake action, the seismic responses of underground structures and adjacent buildings significantly affect each other, and it is highly necessary to consider the dynamic interaction between urban rail transit underground structures and neighboring building complexes. The mechanisms of seismic response of underground structures and adjacent buildings were analyzed from the perspectives of kinematic interaction and inertial interaction; the influences of factors such as the dynamic characteristics of surrounding buildings, the structural form of subway station structures, the relative positions of underground and above-ground structures, ground motion input characteristics, and site conditions on the kinematic and inertial interactions in the seismic response of subway stations to adjacent ground buildings were studied, as were the influence of subway station underground structures on the kinematic interaction of adjacent ground buildings and the input motion characteristics of building foundations; a simplified response spectrum method suitable for the seismic response of ground building structures adjacent to subway stations was proposed, along with a quasi-static approximate analysis method for the seismic response of subway station structures that considers the dynamic interaction of adjacent buildings.
