For anyone meeting Gao Xiafang for the first time, it is hard to associate this gentle-spoken young woman with a delicate appearance with an electrical engineer responsible for large construction machinery such as rotary drilling rigs.

Before joining XCMG Foundation, she was a mechanical novice whose specialty was computer software programming. From software programming to complete machine commissioning, from testing software to construction experiments, Gao Xiafang plunged into construction sites, eagerly absorbing all kinds of mechanical knowledge and practical experience that could not be learned from books. Whether dismantling equipment, replacing parts, or making plans, conducting tests, and calculating data, she did everything with skill and professionalism.

Veteran workers all gave her a thumbs-up: "Engineer Gao's fragile frame contains great energy." Relying on the commissioning yard and many late nights spent "cramming" mechanical knowledge, Gao Xiafang gradually combined her professional strengths with intelligent improvements to the products, driving a dual improvement in the quality and intelligence level of rotary drilling rigs.
