From the advent of single-row minivans in the 1980s to the popularity of minibuses across the country, from the Big Dipper, Ideal, Liana to the stunning debut of the all-new Furuida M50, Changhe Automobile, rooted in the porcelain capital, has weathered storms and always stood firm in the fiercely competitive automotive market. Since joining BAIC Group in November 2013, Changhe Automobile has been invigorated and taken on a completely new look. Recently, when the reporter visited Jiangxi Changhe Automobile Co., Ltd., whether at the Changhe main plant production line in the eastern urban area or at the new production base construction site in the Ceramic Industrial Park and Fuliang Hongyuan, everywhere could be seen the inspiring scenes of "Changhe Automobile" people vigorously advancing the industrial battle.

On the morning of December 24, 2014, after driving more than ten kilometers, the reporter arrived at the construction site of the BAIC Group Changhe Automobile Jingdezhen New Base, located at the intersection of the Ceramic Industrial Park and Hongyuan Town, Fuliang County. Upon entering the site, the reporter was amazed by the scene: the site area, already basically leveled, covered more than 3,000 mu; after transport vehicles passed, thick clouds of dust were raised; the sound of pile drivers rose and fell, creating a lively atmosphere; at a small hill, the sounds of excavators and crushers intertwined; in contrast to the vast site, the construction equipment and personnel on site seemed few.

"Let me take you to the construction site." The young man speaking was Hu Gang, who works in the site group of the new base construction command center. He had "transferred" from the Changhe Automobile Jiujiang base and fought on the front line every day with more than 50 colleagues from the other 6 groups of the command center.

Sitting in a Beijing Jeep with a chassis slightly higher than an ordinary car, Hu Gang, while firmly holding the steering wheel in the constantly swaying vehicle, introduced the construction scenes outside the car to the reporter.

——"This is the construction site of the stamping workshop production line, a project built by Zhejiang Zhongfu Group." Following a 45-degree steep slope, Hu Gang first took the reporter to a site with a foundation depth of 12 meters. The reporter saw a pile driver over 30 meters high in operation; because it is necessary to ensure the normal operation of the thousands-of-tons stamping machine in the future, the foundation pit construction requirements are very deep. Although the equipment model had not been decided, the construction party had not stopped work and aimed to complete it within 3 months.

——Arriving at the construction site of the welding workshop production line undertaken by Jiangxi Construction Engineering Group, the reporter saw that nearly a hundred pile foundations had been poured, and the factory building columns stood straight up into the sky, like sentinels standing at attention, being reviewed by the sunlight and blue sky.

——"Why is the soil here so black?" When riding to the construction site of the painting workshop production line, the reporter could not help asking Hu Gang. It turned out that the roadbed here was very hard, and Beijing Construction Engineering Group, responsible for the construction here, carefully scheduled manpower and equipment for foundation pit excavation to facilitate piling and future construction.

——The construction of the final assembly workshop production line is the responsibility of Beijing Urban Construction Seventh Company. After completion, the production line area will reach 100,000 square meters, three times the size of the current final assembly workshop at the Changhe Automobile Jiujiang base, and rare among domestic automobile manufacturers.

The rumbling sound of the mixing station was incessant, and various vehicles came and went in a steady stream; the bustling construction scene truly excited the reporter. On July 14, 2014, BAIC Group Jiangxi Changhe Automobile Jingdezhen New Base held a grand and simple groundbreaking ceremony here. In just over five months, this place has become a bustling large construction base.

What makes people even more anticipate is that the Changhe Automobile Jingdezhen New Base construction project, covering 3,600 mu, is the first strategic project implemented after the reorganization of BAIC Group and Changhe Automobile, with a total investment of 14 billion yuan, planning an annual production capacity of 450,000 complete vehicles and 300,000 engines, to be completed in two phases. It is expected that by the end of 2017, new workshops and production lines for an annual output of 300,000 passenger vehicles and 300,000 engines will be built; by the end of 2018, an additional 150,000 complete vehicle workshops and production lines will be added.
