The J97 project has 97 above-ground floors and 2 basement levels, with a total height exceeding 340 meters. Once completed, it will be the tallest building in central and western China. Since last Monday, workers have been entering the site to assemble it, working through the night to rush the schedule.
Industry insiders say the rush may be intended to complete assembly as quickly as possible to demonstrate Broad Group's capability to build an 838-meter-tall building. Zhu Linfang, a spokesperson for Broad Group, said this is only a trial assembly and adjustments will be made based on problems encountered during the process.
