Beijing Aims for 75% Green Travel Share in Central Urban Area

The 2024 Beijing Transport Work Conference and Municipal Rail Transit Operation Safety Leading Group Meeting was held yesterday. According to the meeting, Beijing will accelerate the development of a comprehensive transport system this year that is anchored by rail transit, supported by surface buses, and supplemented by multiple travel modes, featuring a rational structure, smooth connections, and convenient and orderly services. The city will strive to raise the share of green travel in the central urban area to 75%, and increase the proportion of bus stops within 50 meters of rail stations to 88%. In areas with concentrated travel demand, 50 routes serving medical and tourism trips will be launched.
