Many Problems with Food Labels Such as Dense and Tiny Text: How to Prevent Misleading Consumers
"The text on many food labels is too small. Some products are only the size of a palm, yet the ingredients list, manufacturer, batch number and other information are crammed together, amounting to several hundred characters. I can't make sense of the ingredients list; I just want to see when it was produced and how long the shelf life is, but then it says 'see the bag' at the end." Mr. Zhang told a reporter from Legal Daily that on several occasions, because he could not clearly read the text on the labels, he had to ask supermarket staff or other customers for help. "And it's not that products in large packaging have larger label text—some products, though large in size, may have label text even smaller than that on small-packaged products."
